Want To Be a Pilot
The mentoring platform for aspiring pilots. Get matched with airline captains, flight instructors, and aviation professionals who guide you from zero to cockpit.
Want To Be a Pilot is a mentoring platform for people who dream of becoming a pilot but don't know where to start. The platform matches aspiring aviators with real airline pilots, flight instructors, and aviation career professionals who provide one-on-one guidance through the entire journey.
Mentors on the platform include airline transport pilots (ATPL holders), certified flight instructors (CFIs), check airmen, and aviation recruiters. They help mentees answer the questions that stop most people: how much does pilot training cost, which flight school should I choose, what licence path makes sense for my country, and how do I actually get hired by an airline.
Sessions are booked directly through the platform. Mentees can browse mentors by experience level, airline, location, and speciality (helicopter, corporate, cargo, airline). Each mentor has a public profile with their flight hours, ratings, and reviews from previous mentees.
I built this because when I started my own pilot training, there was nobody to ask. Forums were full of outdated advice and every flight school had a different sales pitch. I wanted a place where someone considering an aviation career could talk to a real pilot who's already done it.
Available on web and iOS, Want To Be a Pilot has connected thousands of aspiring aviators with mentors across Europe, the US, and the Middle East. Whether you're a teenager researching how to become a pilot or a career changer looking at flight training options, the platform puts you in direct contact with someone who's been in your seat.
