Case study
AvioSharing
The worldwide flight-sharing platform where private pilots share flights with passengers under EASA and FAA cost-sharing rules
AvioSharing is the global flight-sharing platform that connects private pilots with passengers who want to share a flight and split costs. Pilots post their upcoming flights, passengers browse and book a seat, and everyone shares the expenses pro-rata. It's fully compliant with EASA cost-sharing regulations and FAA private pilot rules.
The idea came from my own experience as a private pilot. Flying is expensive, and most GA aircraft have 3-5 empty seats on every flight. AvioSharing solves that by letting pilots offset fuel, landing fees, and handling costs while giving passengers access to private aviation experiences they'd never find on commercial airlines.
The platform supports individual pilots, flying clubs, and group flight experiences. Pilots can share cross-country trips, scenic flights, or even fly-in events. Passengers can filter by departure city, destination, aircraft type, and date to find flights that match their schedule.
AvioSharing is available as an iOS app and on the web. The platform handles secure payments, pilot verification, and flight documentation so both sides can fly together with confidence. Every pilot on the platform holds a valid licence and medical certificate.
Since 2015, AvioSharing has grown into one of the largest flight-sharing communities, active across Europe and expanding worldwide. It's the BlaBlaCar of the sky for general aviation enthusiasts.
